This project traces the fleeting beauty of fireworks—a spectacle that rises in radiant brilliance only to vanish in the next moment. I explore the aesthetics and meaning of a cultural phenomenon that unites visual fascination and transience. Yet, I do not merely depict the spectacle itself, but also the moment that follows, its traces: the echo of euphoria, the smoke of what has passed.

The project poses fundamental questions about our relationship to moments of intense yet short-lived experience. Fireworks serve as a prime example of a form of staging that involves significant effort and expense, all for the purpose of captivating us in brief moments of awe. In this way, fireworks also reflect broader societal mechanisms: the tension between excitement and responsibility, consumption and sustainability.
