This photographic project explores the elemental yet largely invisible industries that underpin contemporary society. Focusing on a large chemical factory in Switzerland that produces commodity chemicals – materials that are omnipresent in daily life but rarely seen or understood.

The series seeks to create a dialogue between reality and representation by intervening directly on the photographic prints using chemicals sourced from the factory itself. These physical alterations allow the products to act upon their own images, making their presence, force, and material agency visible. The work questions the boundaries between origin and effect and reveals the hidden processes that lie between them.
