Synergy in between us
Group Work with William Studer
This project examines the behavior of systems through a human lens, focusing on how connections sustain structure, and give meaning to networks. Individual elements are replaceable and hold no meaning in isolation; it is through their relations that purpose, identity, and function emerge. Meaning exists not in the single unit, but in the interactions, dependencies, and exchanges that bind elements together.
Systems are not neutral. They shape the individuals within them by organizing roles, possibilities, and limitations, while also being continuously formed and transformed through the interactions they contain. In this sense, systems are dynamic rather than fixed, produced through participation and relation.
By drawing parallels between technical networks and social structures, the project questions where the individual stands within their systems, as autonomous subject, a functional node or a site of resistance. It highlights a fundamental social function, one that enables understanding, generates meaning and opens the possibility to engage with and transform the systems we inhabit.
